From Framework to Practice: A Research Agenda for Sexual and Reproductive Health in Rheumatology

Autoimmune diseases disproportionately affect people with reproductive capacity, and many of these conditions—and their treatments—can complicate pregnancy and reproductive health. Yet no rigorous framework for sexual and reproductive health care exists in rheumatology, and shifts in reproductive health policy may worsen gaps in care. 

Birru Talabi will describe a research agenda to understand what drives adverse outcomes across the reproductive life course, identify patient and provider needs, and build the tools, training and care pathways needed to address them. This work has implications for other medical subspecialties that provide care to people with chronic diseases.
