Dr. Cynthia Salter is an Assistant Professor in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh and serves as the Interim Director of the Pitt Center for Global Health and the Director of Faculty Development and Informatics at the Shadyside Family Medicine Residency. Dr. Salter specializes in using innovative research methods, including mixed methods and qualitative approaches, to study the factors that affect the health of birthing people. Her work focuses on how systems and community factors influence birth outcomes, especially in the face of racial inequities.
