EMBRACE is committed to centering the voices and strengths of community members by working together as partners in perinatal research. At EMBRACE, community collaborators help to identify and analyze issues, develop solutions, and implement plans for improvement.
Aim 1. Ensure community is involved with all research, training, and data collection. EMBRACE provides opportunities for community partners to provide direction, feedback, and guidance to elements of the Center. The Community Component will enhance the work that has already been done to provide resource sharing and support for ongoing efforts.
Aim 2. Create a network of maternal health partners by looking at strengths and accomplishments within the region. Pittsburgh has a long history of collaborating locally to improve health equity. EMBRACE seeks to continue this tradition by training, integrating, and supporting community members into research teams across the Center.
